Tim Lucas
President and CEO
Tim is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of Surgient, including all aspects of strategy and execution. Previously, Tim was Surgient's CFO and Vice President of Services where he was responsible for
Surgient's financial operations as well as
Surgient's professional services organization. Tim brings to the Company more than 19 years of public and
private company experience in both financial and operational leadership
roles. Prior to joining Surgient, Tim was
the finance executive for a $200MM business unit of SAS Institute, the
largest private software company in the world. Tim has also previously
served as VP of Consulting and as Senior Director of Operations at Red
Hat, where he founded the company's global professional services practice
with a focus on meeting client needs. Prior to Red Hat, Tim was CFO at Akopia,
an open source e-commerce software company, where he managed finance and operations from the start-up phase through a period of rapid growth, leading to its acquisition by Red Hat. Lucas also brings experience in leading a company through an initial public offering, as he successfully did
as CFO for Petroglyph Energy. Tim has a
bachelor of business administration, with distinction, from the
University of Oklahoma, and is a CPA.
Sameer Jagtap
Vice President, Business Development
As VP Business Development Sameer is responsible for Surgient's OEM, SI and VAR relationships. Previous to this role, Sameer was Surgient's Director, Product Management. Prior to joining Surgient, Sameer was the founding Director, Product Management and Software Development at All.com, a joint venture between Dell and Motive Communications backed by $70M from Accel Partners and Austin Ventures. Before that Sameer managed Dell's e-Support product development. In that role Sameer was the recipient of Dell's "Office of the Chairman" award for contributions to e-support. Prior to joining Dell, Sameer held a number of development roles at NCR Corporation. Sameer holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from the University of Poona, India where he graduated with distinction, and a Master of Computer Science degree from the University of South Carolina.
Craig Parks
Vice President, Marketing
Craig is responsible for product marketing, corporate communications and channel program strategies. He brings more than 25 years of marketing experience to Surgient, most recently having served as chief marketing officer of Biophysical Corporation, where he introduced the company‘s brand, drove its market visibility and expanded its channel strategy. Previously, he founded Socket Public Relations/Austin, a leading technology communications firm, where he led the overall operations of the firm and provided strategic counsel to technology clients in the enterprise software, hardware and Internet industries. After substantial growth, SocketPR was acquired by Hill & Knowlton (A WPP Company: NASDAQ:WPPGY), one of the top three global communications firms. Following the acquisition, Parks served as executive vice president and general manager for Hill & Knowlton’s tech practice under the brand Blanc & Otus/Austin. Previously, Parks held positions as vice president of corporate communications and investor relations for Boundless Technologies, and as manager of marketing communications for The Continuum Company.
Dave Malcolm
Vice President, Technology
Dave is responsible for all software development and operations of Surgient's
virtual labs on-demand service and solutions. Prior to Surgient, Dave
was the Vice President of Product Group at Motive where he built the
software development organization from the ground up and was responsible
for product marketing and development of the entire Motive product line
that grew from $2 million to over $65 million in annual revenue during
his tenure. Prior to Motive, Dave was the Vice President and General
Manager of the Internet Business Unit at Tivoli Systems. While at
Tivoli, Dave founded Tivoli's internet management business and launched its first generation of products. Dave held a number of management positions in the product group at Tivoli during his seven-year tenure in which Tivoli had a successful initial public offering, was acquired by IBM and grew from under $1 million to over $1 billion in annual revenue. Prior to Tivoli, Dave held management and software development positions at Locus Computing Corporation and Texas Instruments. Dave graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
Fred Pazos
Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Fred is responsible for Surgient's worldwide sales execution. Fred brings over 30 years of public and private software company sales experience to Surgient. Prior to joining Surgient, Fred was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Exadel, where he developed and implemented a successful strategy to increase online sales resulting in 275 percent growth in a 12 month period. He joined Exadel from Everdream Corporation where he was Vice President of Sales and Services. At Everdream he grew the company's channel business from zero to 35 percent in the first 18 months. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Sales at Intraware, a publicly-traded software company. At Intraware, Fred grew quarterly revenue from corporate sales by 10x in 12 months and was responsible for growing reseller revenues to nearly $100 million per year. He has also held senior sales and marketing roles at Wyse Technology, Hitachi America and IBM. Fred has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
Brian Wilson
Vice President, Services and Support
As VP Services and Support, Brian is responsible for customer success at Surgient, from initial Services engagement and deployment, to ongoing Customer Support. Spanning both onsite client deployments and hosted engagements, his teams design service and support offerings for the full suite of Surgient products. Prior to Surgient, Brian built and managed the Services and Support organizations at WhisperWire, a venture backed telecommunications sales effectiveness start up, through its acquisition by Convergys Corporation. Prior to WhisperWire, Brian worked in the defense industry delivering virtual reality and visual simulation trainers to the armed forces. Brian has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering/Engineering Management from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
