Surgient Expands Alliance with Mercury, Announces Mercury Verified Integration
Surgient Promoted to Premier Partner, Receives Validation for Integration of Virtual QA/Test Lab Management System (VQMS) with Mercury Business Technology Optimization Offering
AUSTIN, Texas - June 28, 2006 - Surgient, the leader in virtual lab management applications for automating software demo, test and training labs, announced today that integration between Surgient Virtual QA/Test Lab Management System (VQMS) and Mercury Quality Center™ has been validated by Mercury Interactive Corporation, the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO) software. Surgient has also been promoted to Premier level of the Mercury Alliance Program.
The integration of Surgient’s virtual lab management application with Mercury Quality Center allows customers to accelerate their software test cycles by automating the provisioning and configuration of test infrastructure used for software testing. Integrating quality management with test lab automation creates a closed-loop automated environment that can deliver faster test results, improved test coverage, and better quality applications in production. The verified integration has been deployed for a Fortune 100 customer that required an automated environment for regression testing system patches for hundreds of standard workstation configurations.
“Mercury further enhances its offering by integrating Mercury Quality Center with Surgient’s virtual lab management applications,” said Michel Feaster, director of products, Quality Center, at Mercury. “The power of the integrated solution lies in its ability to automatically provision needed test infrastructure for complete end-to-end test automation, harnessing the power of Mercury solutions to accelerate application delivery and deliver even more value to our customers.”
“Test lab management delivers the last mile of software test automation, greatly enhancing productivity gains and cost savings,” said Erik Josowitz, Surgient vice president of marketing. “Surgient is delighted to join Mercury in making our joint customers successful.”
The Surgient Virtual QA/Test Lab Management System (VQMS) is an enterprise application that enables companies to centrally manage and automate the deployment of complex testing environments required to execute both automated and manual software testing processes. Based on Surgient’s patented Virtualization Control Server (VCS), VQMS is the first test lab management solution that enables development and test organizations to directly request and access the software configurations required for manual and automated testing. Leveraging industry standard virtual infrastructure, VQMS enables software development organizations to test more, in a more accurate environment, without requiring additional test infrastructure. The result is reduced testing cycles, increased software quality, and accelerated time-to-delivery.
